Innocent Smidt, a curious character, arrives one day at a castle dominated by a heavy mood. Catherine has tried to commit ******* three times and her husband, Arthur, a washed-out filmmaker, is taking an interest in his sister-in-law. Arthur's brother, Michel, escapes reality by drinking. Innocent's arrival turns their existence upside-down.
